SUNY Cortland hoping defensive coordinator's NFL fellowship provides boost

CORTLAND, N.Y. - SUNY Cortland defensive coordinator Ola Adams was one of just five coaches to receive a Bill Walsh NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship this summer, and he's hoping to put what he learned to use with the Red Dragons.

The program serves to help minority coaches get exposure at the NFL level in the hopes of landing professional jobs. Adams got to spend three weeks at the Chicago Bears' training camp and said it was a great experience that taught him a lot.

SUNY Cortland kicks off its season Saturday at home against Buffalo State.
