Do not wash your face excessively. Dirt is not the cause of acne and if you wash your skin too often, it can become dry, sore and damaged. Damaged skin is more susceptible to further acne breakouts and can take a long time to heal. Additionally, there is some evidence that excessively washing the skin, can cause overproduction of the skin?s natural oils, causing more acne.

Milk can trigger acne problems. If you drink milk or eat dairy products and have tried other acne treatments with no success, you should try cutting back on dairy products. While it can promote acne problems, if you eat or drink dairy products in moderation than that is okay.

Want a quick acne tip? Try using toothpaste on a blemish and overnight you will instantly see results. The paste will dry the oil out of the zit and take away any redness associated with it. Make sure you use the white paste kind as the others tend to burn the skin and cause more problems than help it.

Even when it?s hot outside it?s important to protect your skin. Wearing long sleeves and pants can help shade you from the sun and actually keep you cooler! It will also protect you from damage from the sun?s radiation which not only can lead to skin cancer but also breakouts of acne.

During the course of the day, try to avoid eating hot and spicy foods, which can cause flare ups and ruin the quality of your skin texture. If you receive a dish at a restaurant that is piping hot, wait a few minutes until it cools down before you start consuming.

When you are done with exercising, make it a point to hit the shower. Sweating and sloughing dirt and dead skin out of your pores is great, however, not showering before the sweat has time to dry will cause your pores to be clogged with the same refuse that you cleared out. Rest for five or ten minutes then get in the shower and wash it away.

If you want to keep your acne under control, you should stay away from non-nutritive, toxic foods and beverages, such as sweets, alcohol, caffeine, junk foods, low calorie and regular sodas. You should also avoid smoking and being around people who smoke. This is bad for your skin both inside and out. Eat pure healthful foods and take care of your whole body, and your skin will show it!

Try using lemons to combat acne breakouts. Some people find that lemon juice is very effective in getting rid of acne. If you have enlarged pores and oily skin, try applying lemon juice to the area. You should limit the use of lemon juice to only once or twice a week to avoid drying out your skin.

If you have a case of acne, you need to wash the affected skin surface twice each day with acne soap. This soap has a sulfur base, and it is specially formulated to kill the bacteria that causes the acne and to aid in healing of the skin. Make sure when you wash your skin with this soap that you rub the affected area gently with a soft, clean cloth.

To keep oils off your face and avoid acne breakouts, be sure to keep your hair clean. Wash it every day ? especially if it is quite oily. Keep your hair out of your face with barrettes or loose hair ornaments. Don?t pull your hair tightly or wear heavy or tight headbands because this may cause breakouts around your hairline and on your scalp.

In conclusion, natural might just be the way to go for you and your skin problems. A simplified routine is easier to stick with, and natural products tend to go a long way for very little money. There?s even the added benefit of avoiding pushy salespeople in department stores as well. Your skin and your wallet will thank you.
