Polycom receives the Video Conferencing Equipment Vendor of the ...

Mumbai: Frost & Sullivan today announced that Polycom India has been honored with the Video Conferencing Equipment Vendor of the Year award for 2011. Polycom, Inc., the global leader in open standards?-based unified communications (UC), has won this award for the second consecutive year. The company previously won the Frost & Sullivan award for Market Share Leadership in Video Conferencing Endpoints and Infrastructure in 2008 and 2009.

Convergence of technologies to enhance business processes is playing a key role in shaping the mindset of enterprises to adopt rich communication options. The need for mobility-based video conferencing systems is gradually increasing. The Indian Video Conferencing market grew at a steady pace in 2011, with total revenues of USD 83.1 million and a growth rate of 38.7 percent.

While presenting the award, Benoy CS, Director, Information & Communications Technology Practice, Frost & Sullivan, South Asia and Middle East, stated, ?Polycom was the market leader in the Video Conferencing market in 2011, with a significant revenue growth. The recipient of the award was adjudged on the basis of a variety of parameters like Revenue, Growth, Market Share, Strategic Initiatives, UC Integration, and Go-to-Market Strategy, and the process involved in-depth primary interviews of various industry participants and secondary research conducted by Frost & Sullivan analysts. The data was then presented to an elite panel of jury members comprising some of the most prominent CIOs/CTOs from the industry to incorporate the end-user perspective. Frost & Sullivan then presented the award to the company that received the number one industry rank.
