Color Trends and Inspiration

Separated at Birth? alrighty, let?s give the men a little equal opportunity here today, shall we? i?ve been sadly remiss in my separated at birth posts including men in the mix. it?s a bit of a challenge when you think about it?these dudes wear a lot of suits, and it?s not always that easy to match that up with interesting room decor?can you say ?boring?? but one of my favorite sites, nerd boyfriend has a bevvy of fascinating men, so i?m teaming up with their images today. let?s hear it for the boys.

Staging Industry

Shades 0f Light and Dark ? Juin Ho? Light versus dark. Asian references counterbalanced by a modern western aesthetic. Masculine but definitely not macho. Tailored, elegant and with a touch of whimsy. Earthy and tactile. Smooth and structured. The yin and yang of interior designer Juin Ho.

That?s Quite the Story? Designer Sara Story creates rooms that have much to say. These two photos serve up two of my favorite design elements: chinoiserie wallpaper and glorious orange Hermes boxes. A girl needs both in her life and her home. At least that?s my philosophy.

Property of the Week

8 Hogwarts Worthy Homes in U.S.? The cast, crew, and, of course, fans are sad to see the wizarding world come to an end but many have faith the magic will live on. Local Faves & Raves

Signature Style of Great Cities:? San Francisco? Diane Dorrans Saeks wrote that San Francisco is a ?free thinking college student who fled to France to study life, literature, art and architecture, returned with a head full of European history? and settled in California. Though much is of European inspiration (it is the ?Paris of the West,? after all), San Francisco?s signature style is as rich, unique and detailed as one of its famous Painted Ladies.
