Anyone who into endurance type sports like cycling understands that hydration and energy are important during work outs. For this, athletes have special drinks and food that is easy to utilize. Sadly, most of these items on the market today, while they may offer the energy and hydration needed, could use some work in the taste area. Dr. Allen Lim, creator of Skratch Labs, wanted to make something palatable that still offered the energy and hydration cyclists need.Most energy drinks are full of carbs and empty calories that give the drinkers a surge of energy without offering much in the health factor. Cyclists must have foods and drinks that are easy to drink and that offer the right nutritional value. Dr. Lim wanted to offer athletes the benefits of these products without the danger of the infamous "rot gut" so many of us have experienced when ingesting large quantities of sports nutrition products. His sports drink was a brain child of trial and error and he found that using natural ingredients made it more flavorful. He finally came up with a mixture that was very light and one that cyclists started to fall in love with from day one.
This "Secret Drink Mix" was born from his labors by using real fruit flavors rather than the artificial flavors favored by virtually every other company in the business. This also means that there are no chemicals that typically upset the stomach during workouts and the energy provided was all natural. The trial period was a success and cyclists began putting his special drink into their sponsored drink bottles.
Since, Dr. Lim has had so much success with the sports drink, he also decided to make his rice cakes recipe public.
